CAHAL is a special education program of smaller classes for children with various learning disabilities from Kindergarten through 8th grade. CAHAL classes are located in community yeshivas and Bais Yaakov schools in the Five Towns and Far Rockaway. We teach our students skills that promote success in mainstream academic and social settings. As students develop their learning and social skills, CAHAL will mainstream them into the regular classes with the goal of enabling the students to return to their mainstream schools. Small classes, highly individualized attention (4 to 1 student to teacher ratio with a maximum of 12 students) and uniquely designed programs encourage and foster the children’s success, preparing them for advanced studies and adulthood.

CAHAL is seeking highly motivated assistant teachers for the 2022-23 year to work in CAHAL classrooms for students with special education learning challenges in the Five Towns and Far Rockaway. The ideal candidate will have or be working towards a degree in Special Education or other related field. Some prior teaching experience with children is preferable.

Responsibilities
Assisting the head teacher in limudei kodesh and/or secular studies. Responsibilities include teaching individual students and small groups, supporting the students during whole class lessons, and covering the class as needed.
